BNB Chain Releases BNB Greenfield
BNB Chain is highlighting ownership in its latest Web3 data storage development.
Decentralized Storage at BNB Greenfield
BNB Chain has announced the creation of BNB Greenfield, a new Web3 data storage and ownership infrastructure. The new infrastructure paradigm will restore user ownership and flexibility to user data storage.
BNB Chain is effectively creating a new blockchain that will enable users and Decentralized Applications (Dapps) to store, access, and manage their data using personal keys and private access.
Greenfield will interact with the new blockchain and decentralized storage providers alongside existing BNB Chain applications to usher in a “new economic paradigm for data storage in Web3,” according to BNB Chain’s Growth Operations Director Alvin Kan.

Data storage and ownership have long been contentious issues in the Web2 to Web3 transition. Web2 institutions have a strong, centralized grip on data storage and ownership, and breaking this stranglehold can be viewed as a liberation from the control of centralized entities.
BNB Chain lists the following capabilities for BNB Greenfield:
Login capability using anonymous cryptographic keys (IDs)
With familiar UX interfaces, users can create, read, and execute data.
Users own and manage all of their data assets, including programming and sharing.
Users can profit financially from data ownership.
BNB Chain confirmed that a testnet for BNB Greenfield is being developed in collaboration with Amazon Cloud Services, Nodereal, and Blockdaemon and will be available in a few months.
