China has set a goal for metaverse hub 2025
According to Forkast News, China’s Suzhou city has announced a plan to become a metaverse hub by 2025.
Suzhou is aiming to launch 30 use cases by 2025 — primarily focusing on, tourism, healthcare, city administration, and education.
According to Forkast News, the city wants to be the main attraction for metaverse development and innovation. Suzhou also hopes to attract over 200 virtual reality technology companies within its borders by 2025.
Despite the fact that the city has not disclosed budget information for its plans, it intends to launch 30 different scenarios, the majority of which will focus on healthcare, city planning, tourism, and education.
The metaverse China
Suzhou is in the Chinese province of Jiangsu. China’s Beijing, Chongqing, Jinan, Zhejiang, Guangzhou, and Henan provinces have all announced plans to improve their metaverse capabilities.
Despite its anti-crypto stance, China has a more positive attitude toward the metaverse hub. In December 2022, the country’s capital Shanghai launched a $149 million (1 billion Yuan) metaverse fund. The fund’s goal is to grow the metaverse industry in China and increase competition.
China’s anti-crypto stance became clear when it banned cryptocurrency mining in 2021. Despite lawmakers’ strict stance on cryptocurrency, it has been revealed that the country owns the crypto it has confiscated so far, which amounts to $3.9 billion.
